The Digital Know-How Lowdown

Cobham SATCOM is going to be giving ship owners and operators the opportunity to get the lowdown on how to operate safer, smarter and more effectively throughout SMM 2016.

Throughout the trade show, beginning next week in Hamburg, Germany, Cobham will host Leadership in Person keynote speakers to give industry stakeholders a chance to participate in a number of daily maritime communication focussed presentations.

Inmarsat and Intelsat have been chosen as the satellite giants that will share their visions of the future of maritime satellite communications, focussing on topics such as HTS, Fleet Xpress and Intelsat EpicNG, and giving advice on how to harness the power of modern communication technology and services to operate smarter and more efficiently.

The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) will be cast under the spotlight as the keynote speakers discuss its ongoing development and established emergency communication regulation.

A daily Leadership in Person keynote presentation will take place from Tuesday September 6th until Thursday September 8th, giving the opportunity for industry investors to delve into the opportunities that lie in maritime satellite communications and question those behind the innovations.

Jan Michelsen, VP, Maritime Business Development, Cobham SATCOM encourages participants of SMM to engage in discussion around the changing world of maritime communications and come together to learn from the leading experts about how a ship’s efficiency can be significantly enhanced in a tightening regulatory era through the solutions available today.

The following speakers will be presenting throughout SMM:
