Tristar Group has taken delivery of the first of six brand new MR tankers from Hyundai in Ulsan, South Korea.
The Silver Manoora tanker will operate with lower fuel consumption than existing tonnage and is smaller and more economical to operate. This tanker and its five sister ships feature additional fuel saving technologies such as Propeller Boss Cap Fins, New Profile Technology Propeller and Trim Optimisation Systems to increase efficiency.
The event was attended by the President and CEO of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, Hwan-Goo Kang, high ranking officials from Tristar and Agility, and the company’s financial advisors, bankers, brokers, lawyers, new building supervisors, classification advisors and fleet technical managers.
The Silver Manoora is the first of the six MR tankers to be delivered to Tristar over the course of this year. All six ships will be placed on long term time charter with Shell.
