Tsakos Columbia Shipmanagement Oil Tanker Certified by Green Award

Tsakos Columbia Shipmanagement’s newly delivered aframax tanker ELIAS TSAKOS has been certified for Green Award certification.

The onboard survey for ELIAS TSAKOS was completed on 24 July in Kårstø, Norway by an experienced Green Award surveyor. The new tanker became Tsakos Columbia’s fifth oil tanker to be certified by Green Award.

The company has also indicated their intention to enroll all nine newbuilds to Green Award, which are planned to be delivered throughout 2016 and 2017. For each ship, an onboard survey will be carried out and certificates will be issued in due course upon successfully meeting the Green Award requirements.

The company first applied for reen Award in 2014 with their suezmax EURO. After successful completion of office audit in 2014 and onboard survey of EURO in 2015, they added 3 aframaxes Promitheas, Propontis and Proteas that were certified in early 2016.
