UK Chamber pushes new safety forum

The UK Chamber of Shipping is pushing safety to the fore with a new forum for members.

What’s news

The forum is called the Safety Culture Forum.
The drive for the initiative comes from its current president, Dr Grahaeme Hendersen who runs the shipping division at energy giant Shell. He has often spoken about improving safety on board vessels for maritime professionals.
The initiative is the first step towards promoting a much stronger awareness of safety not just within chamber members, but also further afield where commercial pressures can put a strain on shipboard safety.
