The US Coast Guard has given a Letter of Acceptance to JAX LNG to permit operation of its waterfront liquefied natural gas facility in Jacksonville, Florida.
- LOA also allows JAX LNG to conduct ship-to-ship bunkering operations with TOTE Maritime’s Marlin Class ships and the LNG barge, Clean Jacksonville.
- Ship-to-ship bunkering operations are expected to begin in early 2018.
- JAX LNG is a joint venture between Pivotal LNG and Northstar Midstream. The LNG facility will be operated by Pivotal LNG and is expected to have 2m gallons of storage with a daily liquefaction capacity of 120,000 gallons.
