The Sea Traffic Management (STM) Validation project has made its first operational tests with shore centre manufacturers.
- STM project creates transparency of voyages by enabling vessels to see each other’s planned routes and assess how the vessels will influence a ship’s voyage.
- First test was carried out between the Kongsberg Shore Centre and Adveto ECDIS system. Vessel shared its voyage plan and the shore centre was instantly able to see the plan to check, monitor and confirm information passed over.
- A standardised information exchange has been created so different users can connect without changing formats, interfaces or communication means.
STM test beds will include 300 ships, 13 ports and at least 5 shore centres.
