Wärtsilä and Carnival enter performance-based partnership

Wärtsilä and Carnival Corporation & plc have signed a 12-year agreement to strengthen their existing partnership and improve cruise ship safety and reliability.

  • The performance-based agreement provides for shared financial incentives and exposure based on outcomes for both companies.
  • The value of the long-term agreement is approximately EUR 900 million.
  • All engine maintenance and monitoring for Carnival’s ships will be handled by Wärtsilä.
  • The partnership will allow both companies to share exposure on outcomes of their performance and will encourage focus on research and development.
