Wärtsilä CSSC opens dual-fuel engine production facility in China

CSSC Wärtsilä Engine Co Ltd (CWEC), a collaboration between Wärtsilä and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has opened its new production facility in Lingang, Shanghai.

  • The production plant is the first in China that is capable of producing large-bore, medium-speed diesel and dual-fuel engines.
  • It will focus on the cruise, ferry, LNG carrier, offshore, special vessel, and large container ship markets.
  • The facility has a production capacity of more than 180 engines per year and has 70 orders to date.
