World Ocean Council Welcomes Another New Member

Principle Power, developer of floating offshore wind turbine foundation, the Windfloat, has become a member of the World Ocean Council (WOC).

The Windfloat is a floating wind turbine foundation that provides access to transitional and deep-water offshore wind sites and has the potential to decrease the cost and risk profile of offshore wind projects.

The WOC council aims to help Principle Power’s ability to meet and work with other sectors to reduce the barriers to up-scaling offshore renewable energy development and to assist with the development towards the Sustainable Development Goals.  As a multi-industry organisation, WOC can facilitate the connection between Principle Power and other sectors and companies to encourage offshore renewable energy practises.

By joining the WOC, Principle Power hopes to accelerate offshore renewable energy development to hep reach the goals of the Paris Agreement as well as local and state renewable energy targets.

Principle Power has previously stated that it is already benefitting from the relationships with investors that resulted from participation in the WOC Sustainable Ocean Summit and the WOC Ocean Investment Platform.
